Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) Report

As you will have read in a previous newsletter, the ETI visited us just after the half term break. Whilst the visit was carried out under ‘Action Short of Strike’ conditions, there is still much to be celebrated within the report. Thank you to all those parents, pupils and staff who completed their survey and to all the P6&7 pupils who met with the inspectorate.

You will now be able to read the full report at www.etini.gov.uk

From within the report some of the key findings are as follows:

The parents highlighted ‘the highly efective pastoral care exhibited by the professional and caring staf; the regular and informative communication provided; and, the high quality learning environment’.

The responses to the Year 7 online children’s questionnaire indicated their ‘enjoyment of the learning activities in school amid a sense of fun within a safe, welcoming environment’. The Year 7 pupils ‘have an excellent disposition for reading’. In Maths they have a ‘very good understanding of key concepts and mental mathematics strategies’. Within safeguarding, the ‘preventative curriculum includes a bespoke pastoral programme for the children and an extensive range of interventions and support mechanisms’.
